Masks are gone, smiles are out and life in Australia has returned to normal as most Covid restrictions have been removed. Rules for international travellers have also been eased – and if you are looking for a GP Job in Australia, there are more DPA locations to consider than we have had in years. However many of the DPA locations are only guaranteed if you accept a job by the end of June 2022 – so it’s a great time to apply.
Restrictions in all of Australia’s most populous states and territories have mostly been removed (masks, isolation periods for house hold contacts etc). The main restriction that remains – positive cases must isolate for 7 days, in addition to precautions such as masks in aged-care, healthcare and in some states on public transport.
Entering Australia from abroad is back to normal (PCR testing removed, hotel quarantine no longer required for unvaccinated travellers in most states).
The general trend across all regions of Australia has been to remove restrictions over the last few months.
