Working as a GP in the ‘World’s Most Liveable City’

As a GP searching is for  their    next job,  they   are presented with many choices:

  • What sort of practice do they like?
  • What will a practice offer?
  • Should they specialise in something?

But the very first decision made by most GP’s is : Where do they want to live?

At the top of many lists is Melbourne – and for good reason. Melbourne has been named the world’s most liveable city for 6 years running – in the EIU’s global liveability index, which considers healthcare, education, stability, culture, environment and infrastructure in the world’s top cities.

So…Is there demand for good GPs?

Alecto has GP vacancies in Melbourne in all of these locations. Yep, GPs can work pretty much anywhere in the world’s most liveable city!

Unrestricted GP Job

Why do we love Melbourne? Melbourne caters for the interests of pretty much everyone. It offers world class arts and theatre, sports, food and wine, live music and living options from trendy apartments to beautiful large rural properties still within commutable distance of the city centre.

Please note, if you are an overseas trained doctor, or a practice looking to hire an overseas GP, DWS restrictions do apply – so please call one of our recruitment team to assist with the available options. There are many DWS areas in the vicinity of Melbourne that have strong demand for GPs, in some cases closer to the CBD than you might think.
