Increasingly social media and online communication is playing an important role in businesses – including medical practices. I recently spoke to a couple of GPs who have been recommended in their local mother‘s group on Facebook and find this is a great source of new patients. At the same time, other GPs are distressed by negative and unfair reviews on some of the online rating platforms.
The recent news of extensive editing of negative patient reviews by a major online platform in Australia has reminded us of the important role of online platforms of medical practitioners.
