To protect Australian doctors and to avoid an oversupply of doctors, the government imposes Labour Market Testing (LMT) requirements for GPs and other industries.
Labour Market Testing refers to advertising for a position for the purpose of testing the local market with the intention of finding local GPs for vacancies. Should an employer not find any suitable Australian candidates and wishes to fill the position with an overseas doctor, evidence of LMT has to be supplied to the Department of Home Affairs in order to meet Employer Sponsored Visa requirements.
At Alecto, GP recruitment is at the heart of what we do. We have successfully recruited hundreds of doctors from the UK and other countries for Australian based GP jobs. We know all the rules and regulations to meet Labour Market Testing requirements and we help clients across the nation to fill positions with qualified overseas doctors in case no suitable local GPs can be placed. We work closely with a registered Migration Agent on these issues to keep up to date with any changes.
Our Labour Market Testing service ensures all necessary advertising and reporting requirements are met. We will supply you with ready-to-go report in order to make the process of hiring overseas GPs seamless within your recruitment process.
