About the role

As Medical Director you will be supporting and supported by, a team of General Practitioners, Registrars, Nurses, Practice Managers and Admin Support staff based on campus.

The Medical Director is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to drive growth and success whilst working closely with the executive management team to implement strategies that enhance patient care.

You will help ensure that healthcare services achieve a balance between high quality health outcomes and efficient clinical services.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide GP services as a senior member of the healthcare team
  • Ensure that students and staff have appropriately targeted health services available on campus
  • Work with other health practitioners to ensure that a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach is in place
  • Provide overall leadership in the development and implementation of the Health Service’s Strategic plan
  • Provide ongoing training and personal development of staff to encourage and expand specialist health services
  • Monitor and review internal policies and procedures on a regular basis and recommend, develop and implement improvements as required
  • Actively participate in quality and accreditation initiatives for the practice
  • Implement audit processes to ensure compliance with university policies and related legislative requirements

Essential requirements

  • Specialist registration with AHPRA /FRACGP
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to guide, coach and manage staff in a complex and dynamic environment, and the capacity to ensure that staff are developed and motivated to their full potential
  • Strong experience in medical practice, clinical leadership and management of resources to ensure optimal health service outcomes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to negotiate, influence and consult with a diverse audience across all levels of an organisation, with cross-cultural sensitivity
