Gold Coast DWS position open! Due to the rapid population boom that the Gold Coast is experiencing, this DWS practice is opening in a busy shopping centre to help meet the needs of the local community. Privately owned and operated, the clinic is looking to add an enthusiastic new GP to the experienced team.

The GP group will be supported by an allied health team consisting of a psychologist, podiatrist and physiotherapist as well as an experienced administration and nursing team to assist with patient care and follow up.

With a year-round average temperature of 25°C, this location is the perfect escape from drab, cold weather! For GPs that are restricted by the 10-year moratorium, the area is currently classes as a DWS area. This is very likely to change come February 2018, so if you are looking for a practice in a beautiful, sunny location, you’ll have to hurry!

This DWS location is paradise on earth! Located at the northern end of the Gold Coast, lovers of sun and sea will feel right at home here. In the last 5 years, the population has boomed from under 10,000 to in excess of 75,000 people. As such, the demand for infrastructure in the area has increased.

About the practice

Private billing practice – children are bulk billed as well as and some subsequent appointments (if patient is required to come back more than twice in a calendar month)
Traditional family medicine – team of 5 GPs
Supportive administration and management team
Full time nursing support
Multi-disciplinary team on-site (pathology, podiatry, physiotherapy and psychology)
Interesting mix of patients – a lot of chronic disease presentations
Close to great schools
Private, off-street car park for patients and doctors

About the role

65% of billings –
Guarantee available but won’t be needed
Part time position – ideally 2-3 days per week
GPs with an interest in Women’s Health will be highly regarded for this role
Flexible hours including school hours negotiable

19AA exemption available
19AB/DWS exemption possible

Essential requirements

FRACGP
A record of ongoing professional development with a College of General Practitioners
Current and unconditional registration in Australia

This job is not suitable for doctors with AMC part 1 and 2 or those with general registration.
