DWS Map changes are in! As of 10 February 2016 there have been changes to the map, this will affect the choices of overseas trained doctors looking for work in Australia. Whilst these DWS Map changes have occurred, there are still many DWS vacancies available in all states of Australia.

Below are the list of significant DWS Map changes for each popular area:

Western Australia:

There have been no significant changes to the area around Perth’s CBD. However the entire Margaret river region and also Bunbury is now a DWS location.

South Australia

The only significant change to Adelaide in South Australia is that the area around Elizabeth has lost its DWS status.

Victoria

The suburbs of Melbourne which are no longer DWS are: Melton, Frankston, Seaford, Carrum Downs, Tullamarine, Gladstone Park, Craigieburn, Broadmeadows and Coolaroo.

The following suburbs are now DWS locations: Mornington, Mount Eliza and Mount Martha

New South Wales

There have been small changes to the DWS map around Sydney. Mount Druitt is no longer a DWS area. However Penrith and Camden are now DWS areas.

Queensland

The Gold Coast suburbs of Labrador, Biggera Waters and Runaway Bay have now lost DWS status. Whilst Eight Mile Plains near Brisbane is now a DWS area.
